A few kilometers from Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg, in the Swabian town of Affalterbach, we have optimal conditions for shaping the future as a driving force in the sports car and performance segment. Here we act as an independent OEM and combine the lean structures of a medium-sized company with the international capabilities of Daimler AG. Protecting natural resources is something we take seriously.
That’s why the Affalterbach site has established a holistic sustainability
concept that includes maximizing from regenerative sources.

POWER GENERATION THROUGH
SUSTAINABLE ENERGY CONCEPTS:

The Affalterbach site uses a variety of energy concepts – such as geothermal, ice storage, fuel cells, etc. – to produce energy of its own (electricity, heat and cold) for use in its buildings.

RAINWATER USAGE:

1.500_m³/year

Rainwater collected in cisterns is used to flush the toilets and water the grounds.

GREEN ROOFING:

20.400_m²

We’ve already been using green roofs routinely for several years now. Along with improving air quality, they retain surplus water and lower the surface temperature of the roof when exposed to sunlight. Green roofing also reduces noise levels in and around buildings.

Local “Give-a-Cent@AMG” program.
Rounding their monthly paycheck down to the nearest euro, employees donate the cent figure for social projects in and around Affalterbach.

National/international “Passion for Good” program.
As a partner of Laureus Sport for Good, Mercedes-AMG supports this worldwide foundation’s work on behalf of disadvantaged children. Within the framework of the “Passion for Good” initiative, AMG donates 1 euro to the Laureus Sport for Good foundation for every kilometer driven by AMG Performance Teams in the GT3 racing series. AMG brand ambassador, factory driver and AMG Driving Academy instructor Maro Engel serves as the official patron for this program.
