The AMG Passion Pool is an 18-month trainee program that we’ve designed to prepare university graduates for a successful career start. We give you unique insights into the sports car and performance brand of Mercedes-Benz. As an OEM, we bear complete responsibility for design, aerodynamics and interior as well as drivetrain, engine, suspension, brakes and electronics. We also manage all marketing and sales-related aspects on our own. Compiled for you – the FAQs.

Are all posted job openings always up-to-date?

We update our job postings daily – so all of the positions posted on the career page do still need to be filled.

As a general rule, what is the earliest starting date for posted job openings?

Posted job openings are to be filled at the earliest possible date, taking notice periods into account. Student positions generally indicate the exact starting date in the job description.

Can I submit an unsolicited application?

No, unfortunately we do not accept unsolicited applications. For data privacy reasons, we are unable to store your application over a longer period of time and then get back to you when a position that fits your profile opens up. All currently available positions are listed under “Job Opportunities”.

If no suitable job opening happens to be posted at the moment, you can set up a job newsletter in your candidate profile / in the job search, and receive regular updates about new job opportunities.

How do I apply?

Our open positions are posted at Take just a moment to create your candidate profile there and then use it to apply quickly and easily.

Can I use the traditional method and submit a hardcopy application via the postal service?

Our application process accommodates digital applications only. Please send us your application documents online via our application form.

Which documents should I upload with my application?

Every application first starts with your candidate profile, which you can create or, if you’ve already created one, update with new information. Your LinkedIn profile can be used for automatic initial filling, but it does not have to. For the application, you can then upload your CV, an individual cover letter (not for professionals, only for student applications) as well as certificates as DOCX, PDF or image and text with a maximum file size of 10 MB.

To whom should I address my application?

Since your application will be reviewed by several people, feel free to keep your cover letter general (e.g. “Hello AMG Team”).

Is there anything that I ought to pay particular attention to when I apply?

Authenticity means a lot to us: When you apply for a permanent position, we will ask you a concrete question that you should answer openly and honestly. Make sure that your résumé shows us the key stages of your experience as clearly as possible. As a student you can use your cover letter to show us how well you fit in our team and why you’re interested in Mercedes-AMG.

Who should I contact if I need help filling out the application form?

If you have any questions, our Application Management will be happy to assist you by mail at career(at)

How can I check on the current status of my application?

You can log into your candidate profile and track the status of your application in the system at any time under “Job Applications”.

Can I add/correct/replace documents in my application after it has already been submitted?

You can log into your candidate profile and manually edit/correct the data and documents stored there under “Job Applications”.

When will I receive a reply concerning my application?

As soon as we receive your application, you will automatically receive a confirmation e-mail. If you do not receive one within 24 hours, please contact our Application Management via mail at career(at)
We will make every effort to respond to your application as soon as possible. How long this takes will depend on the job posting and the number of applicants - we take the time to review each application very thoroughly.

I received a rejection notice. Can I have some feedback about this decision?

If you visited us for a job interview, the responsible personnel manager will be glad to give you some personal feedback.
If you weren’t invited for an interview, unfortunately the large number of applications prevents us from giving you specific feedback. Please don’t take a rejection personally: It’s always strictly related to the occupation of the specific job in question and shouldn’t discourage you from submitting another application to us!

How far in advance should I apply for an internship?

Generally speaking, you’ll find internships posted on our job board about 3–6 months before the definitive start date. However, vacancies are also always opening up on short notice, which have to be filled within a few weeks.

Do you allow students to write a thesis there?

Basically, yes, it’s possible. If we have an open position to fill, it’s posted. Unfortunately, other types of student job (e.g. an internship) cannot be converted into thesis work.

What dress code applies there during interviews or selection days?

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable! Here in Affalterbach, a suit and tie tends to stand out – we mostly just wear shirt/blouse or polo shirt and jeans.

We live our team spirit at AMG, and that’s why we’re all on a friendly, first-name basis. So if our staff addresses you by your first name already during the selection process, don’t worry – feel free to use their first names right back. We don’t even give it a second thought. If you feel more comfortable on a more formal last-name basis, however, just let us know.
